Job Title: Payment Analyst

Location: Toronto, Ontario

Duration: 6 Months (with possibility of extension and potential conversion to full-time)

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2–3 days onsite)

Role Overview

The Payment Analyst will be part of the Global Asset Management team, supporting operational excellence and ensuring accurate financial processes. This role focuses on Accounts Payable (AP) functions, vendor management, and compliance with financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

Invoice Processing: Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices.
Expense Management: Monitor and reconcile expenses to maintain compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Vendor Relations: Coordinate with vendors to resolve payment inquiries and maintain strong relationships.
Financial Controls: Support audit and reporting processes to ensure transparency and accuracy in financial transactions.
General Accounting Duties:Classify, record, and summarize financial data using journals, ledgers, or accounting software.
Prepare and issue bills, invoices, and account statements.
Debit/credit accounts using spreadsheets and specialized accounting tools.

Required Qualifications

College Diploma or equivalent.
3–5 years of financial and/or accounting experience (preferably in Accounts Payable).
Strong customer service skills and excellent verbal/written communication.
Attention to detail and critical thinking abilities.
Intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables mandatory; Macros a plus).
Experience with accounting software (COUPA preferred).
Knowledge of sales tax systems and relevant legislation.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Nice-to-Have

Previous experience in the banking industry.
Professional accounting certification (CPA or equivalent).

Interview Process

Format: 1 round, 30–45 minutes via Microsoft Teams.
Focus: Behavioral and role-specific questions related to Accounts Payable, Excel proficiency, and communication skills.
