Chief Executive Officer – Small, Established Biotech

UK based

This role is for an established, lean biotech company with a small internal team and a broader network of consultants and vendors. The business is well supported and focused on delivery rather than capital raising.

The CEO will bring stability, structure and clarity, while remaining closely connected to the science.

The role

You will be responsible for setting and owning the strategic narrative of the company, ensuring data, milestones and progress are clearly articulated to the board and investors. This includes oversight of vendor contracts, consultant management and budget ownership.

While this is a CEO position, it is not removed from the science. You will work closely with the Chief Development Officer, staying close to the data and ensuring decisions are grounded in scientific reality.

Clear milestones, delivered on time and communicated well
Effective coordination of internal team and external partners
Calm, confident leadership that brings structure without bureaucracy
Strong board level communication driven by data and progress

Your Background

Experience leading or operating at senior level in small biotech environments
Comfortable managing consultants, vendors and budgets
Able to translate complex science into clear strategic updates
Scientifically credible and engaged, without needing to own all execution
No requirement to fundraise
