Job Title: Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer (Early-Stage Startup)

Location: Toronto, Canada

About the Role:

We are seeking a strong Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join an early-stage startup and help build and ship end-to-end product features in a fast-moving environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys owning frontend, backend, and infrastructure decisions, with a strong bias toward shipping high-quality product quickly. You will have meaningful ownership, direct product impact, and the opportunity to shape both technical and product direction.

What You’ll Do:

Build, ship, and own end-to-end product features across the full stack
Take ownership of frontend, backend, and infrastructure decisions
Develop modern user interfaces using React or similar frameworks
Build backend services using Node.js or comparable technologies
Design, build, and consume APIs
Work with relational and/or NoSQL databases (Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.)
Deploy and maintain applications in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
Collaborate closely with a small, high-ownership team with minimal oversight
Move quickly while maintaining strong engineering quality and reliability

Qualifications:

4–8 years of professional software engineering experience
Strong proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript
Proven experience working across both frontend and backend
Solid understanding of APIs, databases, and cloud infrastructure
Comfortable operating independently in a startup or fast-paced environment

Nice to Have:

Experience working at startups or early-stage companies
Experience shipping products from 0→1 or rapidly iterating on features
Familiarity with AI-powered features or integrations
Experience with media, creator, or consumer-facing products
Strong product instincts beyond pure technical execution

Red Flags:

Frontend-only or backend-only profiles
Heavy enterprise or legacy-stack backgrounds with limited product ownership
Highly siloed roles with little end-to-end responsibility
Limited evidence of shipped features or measurable impact
