Our challenge

We are seeking a Mastercard Integration – Technical Specialist with strong hands-on experience in Mastercard platforms, including Mastercom, to support payment integrations across authorization, clearing, settlement, and dispute workflows. This role will act as a technical advisor and hands-on specialist, working closely with Appian engineering teams and business stakeholders to design, implement, certify, and support Mastercard transaction flows.

The Role

Responsibilities:

Provide hands-on technical support for Mastercard payment integrations, including Mastercom
Guide Appian and integration teams on Mastercard APIs, message formats, and integration patterns
Support the design, development, and troubleshooting of end-to-end Mastercard transaction flows
Assist with Mastercard Mastercom integrations related to:
Disputes and chargebacks
Retrieval requests
Representment and arbitration workflows
Support certification, testing, and defect resolution for Mastercard rails
Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis
Collaborate with Appian engineers, CardWorks stakeholders, and Mastercard-facing teams
Ensure adherence to Mastercard rules, security standards, and compliance requirements
Document integration designs, configurations, and operational procedures

Required Skills & Experience

Mastercard & Payments Expertise (Must-Have)

Strong experience integrating with Mastercard platforms, including:
Authorization
Clearing & Settlement
Network APIs
Mastercom (Dispute & Chargeback Management)
Solid understanding of card payment processing flows
Experience supporting issuer and/or processor environments

Technical Skills

API integration experience (REST / SOAP)
Message formats: JSON, XML (ISO exposure is a plus)
Security standards:
OAuth
Certificates
Encryption
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
Ability to work in a hands-on technical advisory role

Nice to Have

Prior experience working with Appian or other BPM / workflow platforms
Exposure to card dispute lifecycle management
Experience supporting certification and compliance testing
Familiarity with Agile delivery environments

Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams
Self-driven with strong ownership and accountability
Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-availability payment environments
