Job Title: Creative Writer – Literature & Humanities (Remote)
Employment Type: Remote, part-time independent contractor
Location: Remote within United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Australia & New Zealand (You must be legally authorised to work in the country where you are based)
Compensation: $35 - $45 per hour based on location, experience, responsibilities, and performance.
Role Overview: We are hiring on behalf of one of our clients, a leading global player in the AI space. This remote, part-time contract role focuses on improving the model's ability to understand and generate high-quality literary and humanities-focused content. You will act as a subject matter expert, crafting original creative writing pieces (stories, essays, poetry) and designing prompts that test the AI’s grasp of narrative structure, tone, historical context, and cultural nuance.
Key Responsibilities:
Write original, high-quality creative content across various genres (fiction, non-fiction, poetry, scripts) to serve as "gold standard" training data.
Design complex prompts that test the AI's ability to analyze literature, discuss philosophical concepts, or mimic specific literary styles.
Review and edit AI-generated creative text for narrative flow, voice consistency, factual accuracy (within humanities contexts), and stylistic adherence.
Collaborate on style guides that define the parameters of "good" creative writing, helping the AI distinguish between formal, casual, archaic, and contemporary voices.
Identify hallucinations or generic outputs in literary tasks and rewrite the responses to demonstrate superior creativity and human-like nuance.
Qualifications:
Proven experience or academic background in Creative Writing, Literature, History, Philosophy, or related Humanities fields.
A strong portfolio demonstrating versatility in writing styles (e.g., ability to switch between technical analysis and creative storytelling).
Deep understanding of literary devices, narrative structures, and cultural sensitivities.
Meticulous attention to detail in spelling, grammar, and syntax, with an editorial eye for improving prose.
Comfortable working independently in a remote environment, managing time across multiple projects.
Compensation and Benefits:
Rate: Earn up to $45 USD/hr (Rates vary based on project complexity and expertise).
Flexibility: 100% remote with no fixed schedule. Contributors typically spend 5–10 hours per week, with the option to work up to 40 hours.
