Head of Data

Major international law firm seek Head of Data to develop and lead the firm's Data Strategy. Reporting directly to the CIO this is a pivotal position within the Technology leadership team which will aim to ensure that Data initiatives align with long-term business strategy.

About the Role

The successful candidate will establish and foster a culture of data driven decision making and in conjunction with the key stakeholders, will develop a roadmap for AI, Innovation and automation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Head of BI/Head of Data to join a brownfield site, with circa twenty existing data professionals, to implement a greenfield Data strategy.

Responsibilities

Definition of the firm's target data architecture
Identifying master data sources
Ensuring consistency of data definitions
Collaboration with key stakeholders across the business to implement a cloud based data landscape which supports analytics and AI readiness
Oversee the firm's data platform modernisation journey
Lead the firm's Data Governance inclusive of role definition and policy setting
Collaborate with the CISO to conduct data risk assessments and compliance with ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus
Collaborate with CISO and Legal Risk and Compliance to ensure data compliance
Negotiation with and oversight of third party Tech providers
This newly created position represents a superb opening for a suitably qualified and experienced candidate to join a top law firm as their Head of Data.

Requirements

Experience of designing and deploying an end-to-end strategy and who can demonstrate prior exposure of remaining in situ thereafter to ensure the strategy is successful. Overseeing amendments and ensuring smooth running of the implemented strategy which will have been designed around the existing Tech stack.
