Job Specifications

The requirement is for a hands-on Investment Data/Market EDM Analyst to support Market/Markit EDM (IEDM) activities, with a strong emphasis on:
Investment data quality
Reconciliations
Reporting correctness
Operational controls
The role sits much closer to Investment Operations, Fund Accounting, Product Control, or Reporting than to IT testing. The successful candidate will work directly with investment, accounting and reporting data, ensuring it reconciles correctly across sources and supports internal and external reporting outputs .
Location: London (Hybrid - 2-3 days onsite)
Contract: 6 months initial
IR35: INSIDE IR35
Key responsibilities
Perform data validation and reconciliation within Market/Markit EDM (IEDM)
Investigate and resolve breaks and variances across:
Positions
Transactions
Valuations
Reference/static data
Ensure data quality supports investment, regulatory and client reporting
Work closely with Investment Operations, Finance, Reporting and Accounting teams
Analyse data issues, determine root cause, and see items through to resolution
Support UAT-style validation of data outputs (reporting-led, not dev-led)
Produce clear evidence and analysis to support sign-off and controls
Contribute to data governance and control processes
Support change initiatives impacting investment data and reporting platforms
Experience:
Strong background in Investment Operations, Fund Accounting, Product Control, Reporting or Reconciliations
Hands-on experience with:
Investment data
Accounting/reporting outputs
Custodian and internal reconciliations
Experience working with Market/Markit EDM (IEDM) or similar investment data platforms
Strong understanding of how data feeds internal and external reporting
Comfortable working with large datasets and high volumes of breaks
Experience from one or more of:
Asset Management
Investment Banking (ops/reporting/control)
Fund Accounting
ALM/Credit Risk/Solvency II-style environments
Strong Excel skills; SQL beneficial but not developer-level
