Job Description

This role will be based in Mountain View, CA. At LinkedIn, our approach to flexible work is centered on trust and optimized for culture, connection, clarity, and the evolving needs of our business. The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.

DPX automation team is focused on transforming the way software is built at LinkedIn through AI-driven automation. Our mission is to accelerate development workflows by building intelligent agents and LLM-powered systems that automate key parts of the software development lifecycle. This includes automatic code generation for product development, QA agents for intelligent testing, build fixer agents to streamline CI/CD, and migration agents for seamless framework upgrades. We aim to redefine developer productivity by embedding automation deeply and contextually into the engineering process—bringing us closer to a future where high-quality software is built faster, with less manual toil.

Responsibilities:

You will lead a small engineering team focusing on AI agents that accelerate developer productivity. Manage performance, career development, and technical excellence.
You will own and deliver key components of the AI automation product suite, driving impact across the software development lifecycle.
You will shape the long-term technology roadmap in partnership with senior leadership, aligning team priorities with company goals.
You will coach and mentor engineers, modeling strong execution, craftsmanship, and bias for action.
You will collaborate across teams to leverage a shared technical stack and bring values to various engineering teams.
You will drive innovation in AI-powered developer tools, working closely with AI/ML engineers to design and scale distributed applications, make architectural trade-offs, and balance speed with quality.
You will ensure robust engineering practices, including code reviews, design reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration.
You will build highly available, performant, and reliable applications that support 24x7 operations at scale.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

1+ year(s) of management experience or 1+ year(s) of staff level engineering experience with management training.

5+ years of industry experience in software design, development, and large-scale software engineering.

Experience programming in object-oriented and/or functional programming languages (like Java/Python/C/C++/Scala/etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline.

2+ years of hands-on software engineering/technical management and people management experience.

7+ years industry experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions.

5+ years programming experience in languages such as Java, C/C++, C#, Python, Go, etc.

Experience in the design and development of performant, highly available, scalable web applications.

Understanding of common performance patterns and anti-patterns in distributed systems.

Successful track record of managing small teams of engineers to deliver multiple projects on time and with quality.

Active involvement in the creation and execution of technical strategies and roadmaps.

Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
