SR2 is supporting a defence-focused programme delivering and operating critical digital services. We're looking for an experienced Service Manager to take ownership of live service performance, service transition, and continual improvement across a complex, security-constrained environment.

This role will sit at the interface of delivery teams, suppliers, and senior stakeholders, ensuring services are stable, compliant, and fit for purpose as they move into and operate in live.

The Role
You'll be responsible for managing one or more live digital services, overseeing service transition, operational performance, and governance. The role requires strong service management fundamentals, confidence operating in regulated environments, and the ability to work pragmatically with technical and non-technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

Own end-to-end service management for live and transitioning services
Lead service transition activities from delivery into live operation
Ensure services meet agreed SLAs, KPIs, and availability targets
Manage incident, problem, change, and release processes
Act as the primary point of contact for service-related stakeholders
Drive continual service improvement initiatives
Ensure services operate in line with MoD security and compliance requirements
Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve operational issuesEssential

Proven experience as a Service Manager within large, complex programmes
Strong knowledge of ITIL-aligned service management practices
Experience managing live services in regulated or secure environments
Comfortable working with technical delivery teams and suppliers
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Experience owning SLAs, KPIs, and service reporting
Active or previous SC clearanceDesirable

Experience working on MoD or wider defence programmes
Understanding of service transition within Agile or DevOps environments
Exposure to SIAM or multi-supplier models
Familiarity with security accreditation processes (eg JSP, ISO, NCSC)

Contract role - 6 months
Inside IR35
Rate: £400 - £450
Location: Hybrid/3 days on-site in Wiltshire
