A large-scale technology organisation operating modern cloud platforms is looking for an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer (freelance) to strengthen its cloud and platform engineering team.
The mission takes place in a cloud-native, DevOps-driven environment, with a strong emphasis on automation, scalability, and reliability.
Azure Cloud Engineer – Mission Context
As an Azure Cloud Engineer (freelance), you will work alongside platform and DevOps engineers to design, build, and operate automated cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure.
You will contribute to the evolution of cloud foundations and ensure robust, secure, and scalable platforms supporting business-critical workloads.
Azure Cloud Engineer – Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
As an Azure Cloud Engineer, you will:
Design, build, and maintain Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
Develop and maintain reusable Terraform modules
Translate architecture designs into clean, maintainable infrastructure code
Contribute to standardisation and industrialisation of Azure environments
Azure Cloud Engineer – Cloud Platform & Containers
As an Azure Cloud Engineer, you will work on:
Deployment and security of distributed cloud applications
Containerised environments (Docker) and orchestration with Kubernetes / AKS
Enterprise-scale IaaS and PaaS platforms
Cloud networking, security, high availability, and landing zone concepts
Azure Cloud Engineer – DevOps & Automation
As an Azure Cloud Engineer, you will:
Build and improve CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and platform components
Apply DevOps and GitOps practices (infra-as-code, config-as-code, policy-as-code)
Automate operational processes to improve reliability and delivery speed
Support development and engineering teams with cloud enablement
Azure Cloud Engineer – Monitoring & Reliability
As an Azure Cloud Engineer, you will:
Monitor availability, performance, and health of cloud platforms
Implement logging, monitoring, and observability solutions
Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, test, and production environments
Azure Cloud Engineer – Required Profile
The ideal Azure Cloud Engineer (freelance) has:
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
Proven expertise in Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (AKS)
Solid understanding of cloud networking and security concepts
Experience with CI/CD tools and automation pipelines
Scripting skills (Bash, PowerShell, Python, or similar)
Ability to work autonomously in structured, enterprise environments
Azure Cloud Engineer – Soft Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Hands-on and pragmatic mindset
Ability to document and explain technical solutions clearly
Strong communication skills and team spirit
Continuous learner with interest in modern cloud technologies
