Context :

The mission takes place within a large-scale Belgian organization. The Cloud Platform Engineer will join a multidisciplinary server and platform team responsible for designing, building, and operating cloud platforms that support business-critical applications.

Working closely with internal teams and external consultants, the engineer will contribute to the development of a secure, automated, and scalable Azure cloud platform, with a strong focus on Infrastructure as Code, DevOps practices, and container platforms.

Mission & Responsibilities :

As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and operation of cloud platforms and automation solutions.

Your main responsibilities include:

Design, build, and maintain automated cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform (and Bicep as a plus)
Build, operate, and evolve the Azure Kubernetes / container platform
Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support infrastructure and platform deployments
Collaborate with development and data teams to deploy new infrastructure and platform services
Ensure platform availability, performance, security, and reliability
Monitor system health, latency, and resource usage using cloud-native and open-source observability tools
Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, test, and production environments
Contribute to the automation and standardization of operational processes
Produce and maintain clear technical documentation and operational procedures
Communicate status, risks, and technical choices to engineering and management stakeholders

Nice-to-have skills

Experience with Bicep / ARM templates
Knowledge of landing zones, Well-Architected Framework, and cloud-native security patterns
Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Azure Monitor, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, etc.)
Experience with data platform services such as Azure Data Factory or Databricks
Azure certifications
