Back-End Software Engineer – Hybrid (Staffordshire) – £45,000 - £50,000

I’m partnering with a fantastic client in Staffordshire who are going through a huge technology transformation and growing their teams across the board. They’re looking for a Back-End Software Engineer who’s eager to develop, grow, and make a real impact in a modernising environment.

This is a brilliant opportunity if you’ve got some commercial experience under your belt (2+ years), and you want to push your skills further with structured training and exposure to new technologies.

What you’ll be doing:

Working as part of an ambitious development team to deliver software solutions that are at the heart of the client’s business transformation.
Designing and developing back-end services and applications, with the chance to influence technical decisions.
Developing desktop applications (your experience here will be invaluable).
Collaborating across the team on microservices, integration, and future-proofing systems.

Tech environment (not all essential!):

C# / .NET- essential
SQL Server- essential
Desktop experience (huge plus, particularly with WPF)
Exposure/interest in Kafka, event-driven development, and microservices
Desire to learn new programming languages and frameworks

What we’re looking for:

1+ years’ experience in software development (commercial).
Strong back-end skills with C#/.NET.
Solid understanding of SQL.
Desire and capability to learn new languages and tools.
Bonus points if you’ve worked with WPF, microservices, or distributed platforms.
