Engineering Manager — AI & Machine Learning
About The Role
We are looking for a forward-thinking Engineering Manager to lead a cross-functional team at the intersection of applied AI, machine learning, and full-stack product development. This is not just a people management role—you’ll be setting the technical direction for AI/ML initiatives while building and scaling systems that bring intelligence into the heart of industrial and frontline operations. From predictive maintenance to intelligent work recommendations, your team will drive innovation that transforms how critical assets and processes are managed in the real world.

What You’ll Do
Lead & Scale Teams: Manage and grow a group of 6–10 engineers, including full-stack developers, ML engineers, and data scientists, fostering a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and high performance.
Own Technical Strategy: Define and execute the roadmap for AI/ML initiatives in partnership with product, data, and design teams—ensuring features are practical, impactful, and aligned with customer needs.
Operationalize AI: Drive experimentation and applied research, making sure models don’t just work in theory but deliver results in complex, real-world environments.
Mentorship & Growth: Coach developers and data scientists, helping them expand their skill sets, grow their careers, and maximize their contributions to team goals.
Build Talent: Recruit and develop world-class AI/ML practitioners, scaling the team to meet ambitious product and platform objectives.
Showcase Impact: Communicate the team’s progress and business value to senior leadership, influencing both technical and strategic decision-making.
About You
4+ years of engineering management experience, including at least 2 years leading AI/ML or applied science teams.
Experience managing teams that blend full-stack development, machine learning, and data science.
Proficient with modern web frameworks (React, Node.js) and API-driven development.
Hands-on knowledge of the AI/ML ecosystem, including Python, TensorFlow/PyTorch, scikit-learn, Spark, Kubernetes, and workflow orchestration tools like Airflow.
Familiar with ML/LLM approaches such as fine-tuning, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt orchestration, and vector databases.
Strong product instincts and the ability to frame ambiguous challenges as measurable, testable problems.
Excellent communicator and storyteller, with the ability to align technical and business stakeholders.
Bonus Skills
Background in domains like manufacturing, logistics, industrial IoT, or asset management.
Experience with anomaly detection, time-series analysis, and sensor-driven machine learning.
Exposure to cloud-based ML platforms such as AWS, Databricks, or similar environments.
