Mainframe Ops Engineer – Automation, Scheduling & Secure Systems

Configure the workflow request based on the requirements provided by the Business application or Operations.
Configure the planning of the workflows in Scheduler application to automate the start of the planned executions
Configure the software distribution software to install and deploy new versions of software
Configure the data backup requests as requested by the Business, based on the requested retention
Follow the change management process and code review process to make the installations risk compliant and solve the incidents and problem tickets within the timeframe related to the categorisation..

Experience with WFL programming language or another scripting language
Since our applications run on MCP OS on Unisys virtualized mainframe, any experience on working with MCP ecosystem is an advantage, but not mandatory
Basic knowledge on functional database operation is an advantage
Knowledge of COBOL could also be an added value, but is not mandatory

As a OPS Engineer, you will have the opportunity to:

Trainings on ING University to develop your career
Take up other OPS tasks on non mainframe environment

The team

In our Secure Standard Layer squad, we support and maintain our in house developed applications written in ALGOL programming language.

These applications are Scheduler ( schedule execution of jobs ), SDI ( Software Distribution and Installation ), TPL ( data backup management ), SEC ( Security programs ),SYS ( System inquiries ) and SYSBBL ( Business functions ).

Our squad is a mix of DevOps ALGOL programmers and Ops support engineers. One of our OPS squad members will retire and we are looking for a new person to reinforce the team of 5 Ops engineers.

Your role will be handling and maintaining the operational configuration part of our supported applications.
