Duration: 6 months + further extensions

Remote politics: Hybrid working is accepted, with 2 to 3 days per week in the office.

Daily Rate: 420€

Technical Analyst – Legacy Modernisation (Junior-Medior)

Role Overview

The Technical Analyst works closely with BU application teams to drive the technical analysis of their application portfolios, supporting the team’s legacy modernisation objectives. The role is pivotal in collecting, interpreting, and maintaining critical application data, supporting decision-making through robust analysis, and contributing to the calculation of technical debt and supportability scores.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with BU teams to perform in-depth technical analysis of their application portfolios, covering both on-premise and cloud applications.
Conduct and document TIME (Tolerate, Invest, Modernise, Eliminate) and 7R (Retire, Retain, Reuse, Repurchase, Rehost, Rearchitect, Replatform) assessments for each application.
Collect and maintain comprehensive data on application attributes, configurations, dependencies, and technical health.
Support the calculation and reporting of technical debt and supportability scores for applications.
Ensure all findings and data are accurately recorded in the central Excel repository, supporting data quality for PowerBI reports.
Identify and flag technical risks and opportunities for modernisation across the portfolio.
Work with the Programme Manager and BU teams to validate analysis results and support the prioritisation of modernisation activities.
Contribute to the ongoing improvement of technical analysis frameworks and methodologies.

Required Skills & Experience

Experience in technical analysis or application portfolio management within an IT environment.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex technical information.
Understanding of legacy and cloud technologies, including mainframe, AS400, web-based applications and modern cloud platforms.
Proficiency in using Excel for data collection and analysis; experience with PowerBI (online) is a strong asset.
Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills, able to work effectively with both central and BU teams.
Knowledge and experience of application modernization is an asset.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, change-driven environment.
Relevant technical certifications or qualifications are advantageous.
Good understanding of enterprise architecture, able to collaborate with central enterprise architecture team.

Candidate will report to the Head of the team and are expected to work collaboratively with BU teams, the wider IT organisation, and senior leadership to ensure the success of the legacy modernisation programme.
