Compensation: $105,000 - $120,000 (dependent on experience)

Senior Access Automation Engineer

Role Overview

This role focuses on building and maintaining automation capabilities that support secure access controls across a diverse technology environment. The Senior Access Automation Engineer plays a key role in improving operational efficiency, strengthening access safeguards, and supporting the evolution of security-focused systems through scalable automation and technical leadership.

The position combines hands-on engineering, systems integration, and cross-functional collaboration, with an emphasis on automation, reliability, and secure system operations.

AREAS OF EXPERTISE

Automation and scripting (PowerShell, APIs, workflow orchestration)
Secure access controls and entitlement management
Systems integration across cloud, on-premises, and third-party platforms
Privileged and elevated access solutions
Control validation, risk reduction, and audit support
Technical documentation and engineering mentorship

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement automation solutions that support secure access processes across internal systems and applications.
Develop scripts, APIs, and integrations that reduce manual effort and improve consistency of access-related operations.
Configure and maintain access controls within directory services and cloud-based authentication platforms.
Evaluate existing processes and introduce automation-driven improvements that enhance reliability and security posture.
Support internal control requirements, security standards, and audit activities through consistent and repeatable automation.
Implement and integrate access-related tools in alignment with broader systems architecture.
Define access patterns, control standards, and operational guidelines to support secure system usage.
Act as a technical escalation point, providing guidance and mentorship to engineers supporting access and automation initiatives.
Create and maintain clear technical documentation, solution designs, and implementation artifacts.
Monitor operational metrics and identify opportunities to improve performance, security, or scalability.
Partner with engineering, infrastructure, and security teams to support system integrations and platform enhancements.
Identify and remediate weaknesses, inefficiencies, or technical gaps within access-related workflows.
Stay current with evolving automation techniques, access control models, and security best practices.
Support integrations across internal platforms, SaaS applications, and external systems.
Perform additional duties as required to support platform stability and security objectives.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
7+ years of experience in automation, access systems, identity-adjacent engineering, or security-focused infrastructure roles.
Strong scripting and automation skills, particularly with PowerShell and API-based integrations.
Experience working with access control platforms, directory technologies, cloud services, and privileged access solutions.
Background supporting environments with heightened security, governance, or operational rigor preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS (Preferred)

Security or infrastructure-focused certifications
Cloud platform or systems engineering certifications
Industry-recognized cybersecurity or governance credentials
