Cloud Architect – M365, Identity & Zero Trust

Contract | Complex Transformation Environment

We’re supporting a client delivering a major modernisation of their end-user, identity, and security platforms. The focus is on Microsoft 365 adoption, identity-led security, and a zero-trust network architecture operating at scale in a highly regulated environment.

This role suits a hands-on Cloud Architect who can operate comfortably at both strategy and delivery level, influencing design decisions while staying close to implementation.

What you’ll be working on

Designing and shaping a Microsoft 365–centric end-user and identity platform
Defining and evolving zero-trust / SASE architecture and security controls
Producing clear, pragmatic architecture designs (high-level through to detailed)
Creating and maintaining core architecture artefacts (identity flows, security patterns, standards)
Supporting delivery teams with architectural direction, challenge, and assurance
Assessing options and trade-offs across cost, risk, resilience, and operability
Embedding cyber security by design, including threat modelling and risk reduction
Defining technical standards and guardrails aligned to enterprise and regulatory requirements

What we’re looking for

Proven experience as a Cloud or Enterprise Architect in complex environments
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Cloud (M365, Azure, Entra ID, Power Platform)
Solid understanding of identity-centric design and zero-trust networking
Experience designing end-user compute and identity platforms at scale
Comfortable working across multiple teams and stakeholders
Strong analytical skills with the ability to cut through ambiguity
Experience operating in regulated or security-conscious organisations

Nice to have

Experience with Okta or equivalent identity platforms
Exposure to Zscaler or similar zero-trust/SASE technologies
Background in public sector or heavily regulated industries

Additional information

Security Clearance (SC) required
