Summary of role

As a Senior Cloud Accountant you are expected to be an expert in your field, a leader, and a strategic partner, both internally and with your clients. It’s a significant step up from a Semi Senior, requiring not just technical competence but strategic thinking, leadership and a strong commercial focus.

In this role, you’ll work alongside our Cloud Accounting team to support their requirements as well as supporting the wider business. We operate a hybrid working model, so you will split your time between working in your primary office location, visiting other offices and client sites when needed, from home when you’re able to and college visits when studying for/sitting your professional exams (if relevant.)

We offer training and development via LinkedIn Learning, Croner-i, Mercia and Tolley’s (where relevant) to develop your hard and soft skills. In partnership with your line manager, you’ll craft a development plan that supports your career goals and aspirations.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

As a Senior you will deliver a range of accounting services to our clients whilst maintaining exceptional customer service.

Hold and manage a small portfolio of clients to support the management team.
Act as a software champion in our AppStack, supporting with software queries as they arise.
Provide software training and demonstrations to clients.
Support with providing bookkeeping and VAT to deadlines.
Support with providing management accounts to the Accounts team within pre-agreed deadlines.
Support with review of work completed by junior team members as needed.
Any other ad hoc tasks required by the management team.
Learning and Development: Continuously learning and developing skills in cloud bookkeeping and related accounting software.
Collaboratively working with other Service Lines within our group.
Additional responsibilities as and when identified in association with expectations of the role.

Professional skills/qualifications

Previous experience of working in an outsourced finance department desirable.
AAT qualified or previous relevant work experience.
Previously assisted with Bookkeeping & Management Accounts.
Experience of cloud accounting systems desirable.
Highly organised with a good eye for detail.
Previous experience managing service to clients.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
Excellent communication and people skills.
Ability to manage confidential information with integrity.
A degree isn’t essential but may be advantageous (e.g. in Accounting, Finance, Business, Data Science)
A minimum of 5 GCSEs (Level 5 and above), which must include Maths and English Language
Have excellent written and spoken communication
