Job Title: Data Analyst
Contract Duration: 9+ Months
Location: Downtown Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
Mandatory Skills to Highlight in Resume:

Mandatory Requirements
Experience:5–7 years of hands-on experience in data analytics and programming.
Strong expertise in SQL and Python, including Python data libraries:
numpy, pandas, matplotlib, scikit-learn.
Proficiency in data visualization tools: Tableau (mandatory) and Power BI.
Experience applying analytics techniques (descriptive, diagnostic, predictive) to evaluate controls, identify anomalies, patterns, and compliance indicators.
Strong knowledge of statistical techniques (e.g., regression analysis, cluster analysis, decision trees) and anomaly detection methods.
Proven ability to create executive-level dashboards, visualizations, and presentations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels and influence decisions in ambiguous situations.
Solid understanding of IT principles, data analytics, digital processes, and internal controls in large corporate environments.
Nice-to-Have Skills
Audit Experience (highly preferred).
Advanced degree in Data Science/Analytics, AI, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or related fields.
8+ years of progressive financial industry experience.
5+ years in Data Science/Machine Learning, including 2+ years in NLP (experience with LLMs and Generative AI is a plus).
Familiarity with AWS SageMaker.
Experience with data analytics tools for audit engagements (e.g., Archer, Arbutus, Alteryx, Dataiku).
Knowledge of digital and technology platforms: web, mobile, database, personalization tools, ML/AI.
GitHub portfolio showcasing relevant projects.
Key Responsibilities
Apply advanced analytics to evaluate business controls and objectives.
Detect anomalies, patterns, and compliance indicators hidden in large datasets.
Develop predictive models and dashboards for executive reporting.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence data-driven decisions.
Support audit engagements using data analytics tools.
