Description

A large, globally active financial organization is adding an engineer to a core technology group responsible for a high-volume analytics environment that supports valuation workflows, operational reporting, and risk-focused insights. This position blends hands-on development with steady-state platform support, centered around backend services and distributed data processing components.

What You’ll Handle

• Build, refine, and troubleshoot backend services built on modern Java frameworks

• Assist with distributed data processing tasks and large-scale ingestion pipelines

• Investigate and resolve complex production issues escalated from operations

• Participate in control-related clean-ups and platform hardening initiatives

• Contribute to planning activities, story refinement, and iterative delivery cycles

• Support ongoing enhancements, feature additions, and environment upgrades

What You Bring

• Several years working with Java-based backend development using contemporary frameworks

• Exposure to large-dataset technologies such as clustered storage, distributed compute engines, or document-oriented databases

• Solid grasp of service-oriented patterns and API-driven architectures

• Experience with build, deploy, and version-management pipelines

• Background in supporting production systems and responding to operational needs

• Clear communication style with strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities

• Helpful experience with cloud-hosted data tools or managed compute environments

• Comfort with scripting for automation and utilities

• Some familiarity with UI or front-end tooling

• Certifications in cloud technologies are a plus

• Working knowledge of modern lakehouse or transactional data-layer concepts
