About the Role
OEC is in the middle of a multi-year journey to modernize our infrastructure and applications, transforming how we build, deploy, and operate software. As a Cloud DevOps Engineer, you’ll play a central role in this transformation.
You’ll design, automate, and operate our AWS environments using Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and modern observability practices. You’ll work alongside platform engineers and development teams to create reliable, repeatable, and secure infrastructure that enables application modernization and cloud-native adoption.
This is a rare opportunity to drive cloud infrastructure consolidation at scale — modernizing the applications that keep vehicles on the road around the globe and migrating them into AWS to leverage services like ECS, Lambda, Aurora, and more. This is a hands-on role where the work you do will directly enable OEC’s next generation of cloud-native applications.
What You’ll Do
Design, implement, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform, Chef, and Packer.
Build and support CI/CD pipelines for deploying applications and infrastructure using Jenkins and Bitbucket.
Operate, consolidate, and improve observability platforms (Datadog primary, but also Grafana, Dynatrace, and more) to ensure system reliability and performance.
Support ongoing migration of legacy workloads into AWS, enabling the adoption of modern AWS-native services such as Amazon ECS, Aurora, S3, Lambda, and much more.
Participate in code reviews, incorporating feedback to strengthen infrastructure practices.
Champion automated testing, monitoring, and operational standards to increase confidence in releases.
Collaborate with product, engineering, QA, security, and platform teams to deliver high-quality, production-ready services.
Document and share processes, playbooks, and infrastructure diagrams for knowledge transfer and team alignment.
Identify opportunities to streamline and automate manual processes, driving operational excellence.
Contribute to the migration of legacy workloads by building automation and reusable IaC modules under guidance.
Support and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines, observability tools, and deployments for development teams.
Assist with onboarding new engineers by sharing documentation and walking through workflows.
Take ownership of smaller projects or features, escalating complex issues as needed.
Lead design and implementation of complex infrastructure solutions and platform-wide improvements.
Mentor and coach junior and intermediate engineers, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
Drive adoption of best practices in IaC, CI/CD, observability, and cloud-native architecture across teams.
Influence technical architecture decisions and contribute to long-term cloud strategy (AWS-first, Azure support).
Play an active role in hiring, staffing, and shaping the DevOps culture within the organization.
What You’ll Bring
Proven experience in DevOps, Site Reliability, or Cloud Infrastructure engineering.
Hands-on expertise with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform required; Chef, Packer, or similar a plus).
Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS).
Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).
Practical experience with CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar).
Experience with observability tools (Datadog, Dynatrace, Grafana/Prometheus, OpenTelemetry).
Solid understanding of Linux/Windows system administration, networking, and performance tuning.
Proficiency with version control (Git) and collaboration in shared codebases using agile methodologies.
Bonus Skills That Will Impress Us
Advanced knowledge of cloud networking (VPC design, hybrid connectivity, routing, firewalls, load balancing) with an emphasis on secure, scalable architectures.
Experience with cloud security best practices (IAM design, secrets management, compliance frameworks, encryption).
Background in software engineering, with ability to contribute to or review application code for operational readiness.
Hands-on experience in data engineering or database administration (Postgres, SQL Server, NoSQL) with a focus on performance tuning and scaling in cloud environments.
Familiarity with platform engineering practices, such as building internal developer platforms (IDPs), golden paths, or self-service infrastructure tooling.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field — OR equivalent experience.

About the Company
Playing our part right from the start.
Back in 2000, OEMs were facing a huge hurdle selling parts into dealerships, mechanical shops, and collision shops. Every transaction was handled manually, either by phone or fax, which left the market desperate for a faster, more efficient way to do business.
That's when four major auto players - GM, Ford, Chrysler, and Bell & Howell (now Snap-on Business Solutions) - formed OEC. In 2001, we launched CollisionLink, the first e-commerce tool for shops to buy OE parts from dealership ...
