Platform Engineer (Microsoft Azure/Fabric/M365/Power BI) -Investment Management
On behalf of a fast-moving, innovative alternative investment manager, we are hiring a hands-on Platform Engineer to build, run, and improve its cloud-based data and infrastructure platforms across Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, and Microsoft 365.
This role blends data engineering and cloud operations, supporting business-critical functions including trading, risk, and investor reporting.
Responsibilities
Data Platform Engineering
Build and operate Fabric Dataflows, Pipelines, and Lakehouses (internal & third-party ingestion)
Support bronze/silver/gold data architecture and business-ready models
Develop and optimise semantic models for Power BI and analytics
Monitor pipelines, performance, and data quality; maintain documentation and lineage
Azure & M365 Platform Operations
Administer and optimise Azure AD, networking, compute, and security
Manage Azure Storage/ADLS Gen2/Data Lake environments
Oversee Azure-M365 integrations (SharePoint, Exchange Online, Teams, compliance)
Improve resilience, access management, DR, monitoring, automation, and cost optimisation
Stakeholder & Operational Support
Translate business requirements into data and reporting solutions
Support users with dashboards and troubleshooting
Own incident response and root cause analysis across data and cloud services
Skills & Experience
Essential
3-6 years' experience in data engineering and cloud operations (financial services preferred)
Strong Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouses, Dataflows, Pipelines, semantic modelling)
Strong Azure infrastructure (AD, networking, compute, security)
Azure Storage/ADLS Gen2 experience
Microsoft 365 administration (SharePoint, Exchange, Teams)
Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, governance, security, and compliance
Desirable
PowerShell or Python automation
Power BI and Azure DevOps (CI/CD, IaC)
Financial data domain knowledge (trades, positions, risk, performance)
Exposure to AI/automation tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude)
