Role Purpose:

The IAM Business Analyst is responsible for analysing documenting and validating business and technical requirements for Identity Access Management initiatives The role works closely with security architecture HR IT operations and application teams to ensure IAM capabilities are designed and implemented in a way that meets business needs regulatory requirements and security standards

The IAM BA plays a key role in shaping identity processes such as joinermoverleaver access governance authentication and privileged access

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements Gathering Analysis
Lead the capture analysis and documentation of business and technical requirements for IAM projects
Facilitate workshops with business stakeholders security teams and technical SMEs
Translate business needs into clear functional and nonfunctional requirements
Analyse currentstate identity processes and define futurestate models
Process Mapping Improvement
Document endtoend IAM processes including
JoinerMoverLeaver JML
Access request and approval workflows
Access certification
Rolebased access control RBAC
Privileged access processes
Identify gaps inefficiencies and risks in existing processes
Recommend improvements aligned to best practice and security standards
IAM Solution Support
Work with architects and engineers to ensure requirements are understood and feasible
Support solution design activities by providing business context and process detail
Validate that IAM solutions eg SailPoint CyberArk meet documented requirements
Stakeholder Engagement
Build strong relationships with HR IT Security Operations and application owners
Communicate requirements decisions and impacts clearly and concisely
Manage expectations and ensure alignment across business units
Data Access Analysis
Analyse identity data sources HR AD Azure AD application directories
Support role mining entitlement analysis and access modelling
Identify data quality issues and support remediation planning
Testing Validation
Support test planning and execution for IAM capabilities
Define test scenarios and acceptance criteria based on requirements
Validate that delivered functionality meets business needs
Documentation Governance
Produce highquality artefacts including
Requirements specifications
Process maps
User stories
Data dictionaries
Business rules
Decision logs
Ensure documentation aligns with PMO and security governance standards

Essential Skills Experience:

Strong experience as a Business Analyst within IAM cybersecurity or complex IT environments
Solid understanding of IAM concepts
Identity lifecycle
Access governance
RBACABAC
SSO MFA federation
Privileged access
Directory services ADAzure AD
Experience working with IAM platforms particularly SailPoint but also Azure AD Okta or CyberArk
Strong process mapping and business analysis skills BPMN UML or similar
Ability to translate technical concepts into clear business language
Experience working with HR systems and identity data flows
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Desirable Skills:

Experience in regulated or critical infrastructure sectors
Exposure to role mining access modelling or identity governance maturity assessments
Understanding of Zero Trust principles and cloud identity models
Experience supporting procurement vendor assessments or SOW definition
