As a Principal Frontend Engineer specializing in Crypto and Alternative Trading Products at Questrade, you will be a technical leader shaping the future of our digital asset and alternatives offerings. You'll take ownership of the frontend architecture for our retail crypto and alternatives trading platforms, guide the expansion of our crypto capabilities, and lead the launch of new alternative trading products.

Platform Architecture & Development: Architect, design, and lead the development of robust, scalable, and secure frontend applications for Questrade's retail crypto and alternatives trading platforms, establishing best practices and technical standards.
Technical Leadership: Drive the technical strategy for expanding crypto infrastructure across various Questrade products, ensuring seamless integration, high performance, and future scalability.
New Product Launches: Lead the frontend development and launch of new crypto capabilities for clients and internal teams, from architectural design to deployment, with a focus on technical excellence and quality.
Growth Portfolio Innovation: Lead the architecture, build, and delivery of other new alternative trading products within the dedicated Growth Portfolio entity, actively identifying, vetting, and adopting emerging technologies.
Operational Excellence: Provide expert-level support for all crypto trading and transfer solutions, mentoring the team on troubleshooting complex issues and ensuring system stability and reliability.
API Integration Strategy: Define the strategy for integrating with internal and external APIs (including RESTful and WebSocket APIs), ensuring long-term maintainability and performance.
Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of frontend engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and adoption of innovative development practices. Set the technical standards for the team.
Efficiency & Automation: Champion initiatives to automate workflows, optimize system performance, and enhance development pipelines to boost team efficiency and accelerate delivery cycles.
Complex Problem Solving: Own the diagnosis and resolution of the most complex technical issues, ensuring high availability and optimal performance of crypto and trading systems.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Act as a key technical liaison, working closely with product owners, backend architects, and other stakeholders to trans
