Position Overview

The Junior Financial Analyst – Residential & Hospitality will support Leyad’s finance and asset management teams in analyzing the financial performance of residential rental and hospitality properties. This role is ideal for an early-career finance professional seeking to build expertise in real estate underwriting, cash flow analysis, budgeting, and property-level reporting.

The successful candidate will assist with financial modeling, performance tracking, and investment analysis related to rental income properties and hospitality operations, while gaining exposure to acquisitions, financing, and ongoing asset management.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze and monitor the financial performance of residential rental and hospitality assets, including revenues, operating expenses, and net operating income (NOI).
Assist in the preparation of property-level financial models, including cash flow projections, rent roll analysis, and scenario/sensitivity analysis.
Support annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses for multifamily and hospitality properties.
Analyze key performance metrics such as occupancy, average rent, RevPAR (hospitality), operating margins, and capex spending.
Contribute to the evaluation of investment opportunities, including acquisitions, refinancing, and value-add initiatives.
Assist with lender and investor reporting related to property performance and financing covenants.
Maintain accurate financial documentation and support compliance requirements.
Collaborate with property management, asset management, and external partners to ensure data accuracy.
Conduct market and financial research to support rental strategy, pricing, and long-term investment decisions.
Provide general analytical support to the investments team.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Real Estate, or a related field.

Experience

0-2 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or a related role (internship or co-op experience considered).
Exposure to residential real estate, rental properties, hospitality, or real estate investment analysis is a strong asset.

Skills

Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail.
Solid proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling.
Ability to analyze rent rolls, operating statements, and financial models.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Clear communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Strong interest in residential real estate and hospitality investments.

Responsabilités principales

Analyser la performance financière des actifs résidentiels et hôteliers, incluant les revenus locatifs, les charges d’exploitation et le revenu net d’exploitation (RNE).
Participer à la préparation de modèles financiers immobiliers et de projections de flux de trésorerie.
Contribuer à l’élaboration des budgets annuels, des prévisions et des analyses d’écarts.
Suivre les indicateurs clés de performance : taux d’occupation, loyers moyens, RevPAR, marges d’exploitation et dépenses en immobilisations.
Soutenir l’analyse des acquisitions, refinancements et projets de création de valeur.
Préparer des rapports financiers destinés aux prêteurs et aux investisseurs.
