Role Description:

We are seeking a Senior Order Management (OM) Engineer to support and enhance a highly customized SAP-based order management ecosystem. This role will serve as a critical technical and functional partner across the end-to-end order lifecycle, ensuring stability, scalability, and accuracy across order processing, routing, delivery commitments, and downstream integrations.

The environment is complex and highly integrated, supporting 24+ active initiatives and an ecosystem of 1,000+ connected applications. The team is also preparing for a brownfield migration to SAP S/4HANA with a strong emphasis on achieving a clean core and reducing long-term customization risk.

Key Responsibilities

Own and enhance SAP-driven Order Management (OM) capabilities across a highly customized order ecosystem.
Develop and support solutions in SAP ECC and S/4HANA, with emphasis on SAP ABAP development.
Analyze and troubleshoot issues impacting:
Expected delivery dates
Order routing logic
Order sourcing, fulfillment logic, and downstream process impacts
Identify why key values or outputs change when upstream inputs shift (ex: delivery commitments, routing decisions, sourcing outcomes).
Partner cross-functionally to support the broader order-to-cash lifecycle, including touchpoints across:
Supply chain operations
Transportation/logistics
Customer experience/service
Finance (FI), billing, and external channels
Contribute to documentation and operational readiness through:
Runbooks
System diagrams and process flows
Support procedures and knowledge transfer artifacts
Support modernization initiatives tied to S/4HANA brownfield migration, including cleanup efforts aligned to clean-core principles.
Provide technical leadership within a team environment balancing project work and production support.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications

5+ years of SAP development experience (senior-level capability expected).
Strong hands-on expertise with SAP ABAP programming in enterprise environments.
Proven experience supporting or enhancing Order Management / Order-to-Cash processes in SAP.
Experience in SAP ECC, with strong preference for candidates who also have S/4HANA exposure.
Ability to speak to prior work with concrete examples (transaction codes used, programs built/modified, outcomes delivered).
Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to connect technical behavior to business impact.
Comfortable operating in a highly customized SAP environment (not "vanilla SAP").

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting brownfield S/4HANA migrations or modernization efforts.
Familiarity with AWS services (baseline working knowledge is sufficient; depth is a plus).
Experience working in large, highly integrated enterprise ecosystems with many upstream/downstream dependencies.
Understanding of integrations between SAP and external systems (ex: Salesforce, finance platforms, ecommerce channels).
