Role Overview
This role is responsible for driving revenue growth and profitability across existing global accounts while developing new customer relationships in alignment with the organization’s long-term strategic objectives. The position operates remotely and focuses on expanding business within highly regulated manufacturing markets, including medical devices, diagnostics, and pharmaceutical delivery systems.
The individual will serve as a strategic partner to customers and internal teams, ensuring commercial activities align with corporate goals while delivering sustainable growth across multiple regions
Key Responsibilities
Create and execute a territory-specific sales strategy to identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities in thermoplastics, liquid silicone rubber (LSR), and contract manufacturing.
Develop and maintain strategic account plans for assigned global customers, with a focus on long-term value creation.
Collaborate closely with business development leadership, senior management, and manufacturing sites to ensure alignment between sales activities and organizational objectives.
Conduct regular customer and prospect visits, including international travel, with a target of multiple in-person engagements per month, subject to travel policies.
Provide comprehensive account management support, including:
On-site commercial engagement during customer visits
Monitoring and improving commercial performance metrics, including pricing, profitability, and payment status
Leading discussions related to pricing adjustments, margin improvement, and underperforming accounts
Supporting annual customer forecasting and making ongoing adjustments as needed
Contribute to the development of detailed commercial proposals by:
Supporting or leading internal quotation and review processes for new business opportunities
Working with estimating and operations teams to gather data for pricing models
Preparing customer-facing proposals for internal approval
Support trade shows, marketing initiatives, and promotional activities within the assigned territory.
Complete all required reporting, forecasts, and account receivable follow-ups accurately and on schedule.
Organize customer meetings, events, and business entertainment when appropriate.
Maintain accurate customer records, contacts, and opportunity pipelines within CRM systems.
Coordinate with Marketing to develop territory-specific sales and promotional content.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required, with 7–10 years of proven success in business development within custom injection molding and/or contract manufacturing environments.
Experience managing global OEM customers in medical devices, diagnostics, or drug delivery markets.
Strong analytical capabilities, including hands-on pricing and margin management experience.
Demonstrated ability to build and execute strategic sales plans and consistently close new business year over year.
Proven account management skills with the ability to plan, organize, and deploy resources to achieve aggressive growth targets.
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, make sound judgment calls on resource allocation, and navigate competing stakeholder demands.
Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with customers, executives, and internal teams.
Clear, persuasive communicator with strong written and verbal presentation skills and a professional presence.
Proficiency with CRM platforms and standard business software; advanced spreadsheet and CRM expertise preferred.
Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including frequent domestic and international overnight travel (up to 50–75%).
Success Criteria
Success in this role is measured by the ability to secure meaningful new business within the first 6–12 months while strengthening profitability and long-term customer partnerships.
