Artificial Intelligence Engineer

Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia / Remote

Salary: Up to CA$120,000 (Base + Bonus)

*Must be a Canadian Citizen*

The organisation is a fast‑growing AI and SaaS provider building cloud‑native platforms that power smarter, data‑driven decisions. Their Canadian AI team is expanding to deliver scalable machine learning, automation, and analytics products.

What You’ll Do:

Build and deploy advanced data products and AI signals using diverse, high‑volume datasets.
Lead and refine full Data/ML pipelines from ingestion to real‑time inference to shape major enterprise decisions.
Optimise large‑scale distributed systems by tuning Spark/Databricks workloads and setting engineering best practices.
Champion MLOps and GenAI tooling while guiding junior engineers and engaging senior stakeholders.

What you will bring

Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in Computer Science, ML, AI, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Strong command of Python, SQL, PySpark, and modern ML tooling in high‑scale production settings.
Solid foundation in algorithms, data structures, distributed computing, and training large models.
Proven ability to take research concepts into production, delivering robust AI/ML systems.
Deep knowledge of statistical modelling, ML theory, and practical AI system architecture.
Practical experience with Generative AI: LLMs, RAG pipelines, agent frameworks, prompting, and evaluation.
Familiarity with Databricks, Snowflake, Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud‑native AI infrastructure.
