Contract Opportunity – Senior Software Engineer (AI-First Development)

I’m hiring 3 Senior Java Engineers for a 12-month contract with a FTSE250 FinTech undergoing a major service modernisation & AI-first engineering programme.

London (hybrid – 3 days onsite per week)

⏳ Duration: 12 months

Rate: up to £550 per day

IR35: Outside IR35

Headcount: 3 roles

What you’ll be doing:

Modernising large-scale legacy Java services into clean microservices
Applying strangler fig & service decomposition patterns
Using AI tooling (Copilot, Claude, LLMs) for refactoring, testing, documentation & CI/CD
Building AI-assisted engineering tooling other teams can adopt
Shipping production services in fast, measurable delivery cycles

What we’re looking for:

8+ years Java backend experience (Spring / microservices)
Proven production system modernisation
Strong interest or hands-on experience with AI-assisted development
Delivery-focused, hands-on engineers who write code daily
