Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join a leading financial services organisation on a 10-month initial contract. This role will be based on a hybrid working model in Sheffield, supporting the delivery, automation, and operation of critical platforms within a highly regulated environment. You will work closely with development, infrastructure, and security teams to improve CI/CD pipelines, platform reliability, and automation capabilities, with a strong focus on OpenShift.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, build, and maintain DevOps and automation solutions to support application delivery and platform stability
Support and enhance OpenShift / Kubernetes platforms across development and production environments
Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and deployment tooling
Collaborate with developers, architects, and SRE teams to embed DevOps best practices
Troubleshoot platform, deployment, and performance issues in complex environments
Ensure solutions align with security, compliance, and governance standards typical of financial services

Essential Skills & Experience:

Strong hands-on experience as a DevOps Engineer in enterprise environments
Proven experience with DevOps tooling and automation (CI/CD pipelines, scripting, Infrastructure as Code)
Solid experience working with OpenShift (or Kubernetes-based platforms)
Experience supporting cloud and/or hybrid infrastructure platforms
Strong Linux skills and scripting experience (e.g. Bash, Python)
Background working in financial services or other regulated environments

Desirable Experience:

Experience with container security, monitoring, and logging tools
Exposure to Agile / Scrum delivery environments
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

Additional Information:

Inside IR35 contract
Competitive day rate (aligned to experience)
Hybrid working with regular on-site presence in Sheffield
