Service Transition Lead - 6 months - Wokingham - Inside IR35
We are seeking an experienced Service Transition Lead to join a large-scale IT transformation programme based in Wokingham. This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring the smooth transition of services from design into live operations, working closely with technical teams, suppliers, and business stakeholders.
This position plays a critical role in protecting the operational environment by maintaining robust service transition, governance, and SIAM-aligned processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the development, transition, and day-to-day operation of ITIL-aligned SIAM processes.
Work closely with business stakeholders, internal teams, and third-party suppliers to ensure effective service transitions.
Contribute to the creation and review of enterprise service architecture strategies aligned to organisational needs.
Develop, implement, communicate, and continuously improve Service Design and Transition processes.
Ensure all SIAM requirements are met and aligned with agreed service obligations.
Document service designs and transition artefacts, ensuring inclusion in business cases, project plans, and Service Design Packages.
Attend Technical Design Authority (TDA) meetings and ensure adherence to governance frameworks.
Identify, monitor, and manage risks, issues, and dependencies impacting service transition.
Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes clearly to stakeholders, managing expectations throughout the transition life cycle.
What You Will Ideally Bring:
10+ years overall IT experience.
6+ years hands-on experience in Service Transition roles.
Strong experience establishing and operating Service Design & Transition frameworks aligned to ITIL.
Proven delivery of Service Transition outcomes in complex and/or regulated environments.
In-depth knowledge of Service Operations
Incident Management
Change & Release Management
Problem Management
Supplier Performance
Customer Satisfaction within SIAM models
Strong consulting skills, including stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation, strategy development, and presentation delivery.
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and communicate effectively at all levels.
Contract Details:
Duration: 6 months (with possible extension)
Day Rate: £375 per day (Inside IR35)
Location: Wokingham
Working Model: Hybrid
Start Date: ASAP
