Position Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Systems Administrator IV to support and administer large-scale IBM ACE (Application Connect Enterprise / IIB) environments. This role is ideal for a senior-level professional who thrives in complex enterprise environments and enjoys working with modern cloud technologies.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining secure, high-availability integration platforms across on-premises and AWS environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to support mission-critical systems, implement automation and CI/CD pipelines, and ensure optimal system performance, scalability, and resilience.

This is a remote contract opportunity based out of Richmond, VA, offering exposure to cutting-edge technologies and large-scale enterprise infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, deploy, configure, and administer large-scale IBM ACE (IIB) environments across on-prem and AWS platforms

Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux and AIX-based server environments

Perform system integration testing and production support for enterprise middleware platforms

Analyze system logs, tune performance, and manage memory utilization for IBM ACE and IBM MQ

Administer and support IBM MQ, including performance analysis and optimization

Implement and manage certificate management and secure messaging environments

Design and support disaster recovery strategies, including regional and site failover

Support web access, electronic messaging services, and secure system environments

Research, evaluate, and recommend software and hardware solutions based on scalability and growth needs

Implement CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and Terraform-based automation

Provide server and hardware specifications based on application requirements and future growth

Required Skills / Education:

5+ years of experience designing and administering IBM ACE (Application Connect Enterprise / IIB) environments

3+ years of hands-on experience with IBM MQ administration and performance tuning

Strong expertise in Linux and AIX system administration

Proven experience supporting AWS environments, including:

IAM

EC2

S3

SNS

Lambda

Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, and Infrastructure as Code practices

Proficiency in Python and Shell scripting for automation and system management

Strong understanding of system security, certificate management, and enterprise integration patterns

Experience designing high-availability and disaster recovery architectures

AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (preferred)
