Subsea Technical Manager - Paris
Location: Paris, France (Residential)
Contract Type: 12-Month Renewable Contract
Compensation: Day Rate (EUR)
An experienced Subsea Technical Manager is required to lead the technical execution of a major subsea equipment package for a large-scale LNG development project. Based residentially in Paris, this role holds full technical accountability for complex subsea production systems and associated equipment, from detailed engineering through fabrication, testing, handover, and ongoing project support. The position involves coordination across multiple international fabrication sites and close interface with installation, operations, and commissioning teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all technical activities related to a major subsea equipment package, including:
Subsea Production Systems (SPS)
Umbilicals (onshore and offshore)
Subsea distribution systems
Subsea valves and control systems
Onshore subsea support modules, including MEG and chemical injection systems
Review, challenge, and formally accept technical documentation issued by contractors.
Develop, maintain, and update project technical documentation, specifications, and technical notes.
Manage engineering interfaces with installation, operations, onshore facilities, and other project packages.
Validate mechanical completion, testing, qualification, and readiness for handover.
Oversee preservation, storage, and maintenance activities for subsea equipment.
Identify, assess, and manage technical risks and technical change requests.
Act as the technical focal point during construction, installation, and commissioning phases.
Coordinate closely with fabrication yards and inspection teams to ensure timely and compliant delivery.
Support preparation of offshore and onshore installation campaigns.
Contribute to HSE, quality, cost, and schedule objectives across the subsea package.
Deputise for the Subsea Package Manager when required.
Candidate Profile
Degree-qualified engineer (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
Minimum 10 years’ experience in subsea project execution, with at least 5 years in a technical coordination or leadership role.
Strong experience across subsea production systems, umbilicals, flowlines, and subsea controls.
Proven ability to manage complex interfaces across multi-discipline and multi-location teams.
Strong understanding of international subsea codes, standards, and industry best practices.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to represent the project with contractors and stakeholders.
Pragmatic, solutions-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced project environment.
