The Fountain Group is currently seeking a Revenue Accounting Analyst for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Santa Clara, CA. Details for the position are as follows:

Job Title: Revenue Accounting Analyst - NPI (ASC 606, SaaS)

Location: Santa Clara, CA (Onsite Tues-Thurs, 3 days/week)

Duration: 7.5 months (Potential to convert to FTE; no guarantee)

Pay: $52.00 - $62.23/hr

Role Overview

This role will support the New Product Introduction (NPI) Revenue Accounting team, focusing on validating revenue recognition and financial impacts for newly launched products following the CyberArk acquisition. All new products must complete the NPI and UAT process to ensure compliance with ASC 606 revenue recognition standards before being released into production.

The analyst will participate in end-to-end Quote-to-Cash testing, validate accounting results, and communicate findings across multiple cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities

Support NPI Revenue UAT projects by validating:
Data flow
Revenue results
Financial and accounting impact
Perform Quote-to-Cash testing:
Steelbrick (Salesforce) → SAP
Validate revenue recognition to ensure ASC 606 compliance
Use existing Excel templates to perform validation and analysis
Investigate issues by navigating Steelbrick/SFDC and SAP
Participate in daily UAT meetings with all NPI teams
Clearly communicate testing results, issues identified, and resolution status
Partner with cross-functional teams including:
IT
Order Fulfillment
Sales Operations
Project Management
Help determine readiness for production release
Apply revenue accounting judgment and escalate issues when needed
Required Skills & Experience

ASC 606 revenue recognition experience (required)
Strong understanding of when and how revenue is recognized
SaaS revenue experience required
2+ years of relevant experience in revenue accounting
Strong Excel skills (formulas, analysis, templates)
Ability to interpret data and explain issues clearly and concisely
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
Detail-oriented with strong analytical judgment
Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred, others acceptable)
Preferred / Nice-to-Have

SAP experience
Steelbrick and/or Salesforce (SFDC) experience
Training available for fast learners
CPA certification (plus, not required)
Previous validation or UAT experience (process already defined)
Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting
CPA preferred but not required

Interview Process

2 interview rounds
30-minute interview with Hiring Manager
Short, “easy” Excel test focused on ASC 606 revenue allocation
Candidates must demonstrate:
Ability to explain issues clearly and quickly
Strong communication skills
Practical understanding of revenue concepts
