IT Infrastructure Project Manager | Hybrid | Normal, IL | Location: Normal, Illinois

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of critical infrastructure programs supporting manufacturing facility build-outs and enterprise IT needs. This role requires deep experience in IT construction environments, strong network and data center expertise, and the ability to coordinate across facilities, engineering, vendors, and senior leadership.
You will play a key role in ensuring infrastructure initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and without impact to business continuity, supporting both factory operations and enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end planning and execution of IT infrastructure programs supporting manufacturing plants and enterprise environments
Partner closely with General Contractors, Facilities teams, and external vendors during construction and expansion projects
Define program charters, scope, milestones, budgets, risks, and success metrics
Develop detailed execution plans aligned with production schedules and deployment windows
Facilitate cross-functional planning and design sessions with:
Manufacturing & ME Engineers
Network Engineers
SRE / DevOps teams
Facilities Designers
Low-voltage (LV) AEOR designers
Oversee implementation and refresh of:
Enterprise network solutions (LAN/WLAN, DHCP, DNS, multi-site connectivity)
Server, storage, and backup systems (Data Centers, NAS, DR, AD, Server OS upgrades, patching)
Ensure accurate capture of manufacturing and business requirements
Apply disciplined project/program management methodologies to manage scope, cost, and schedule
Identify risks early and develop robust risk mitigation and commissioning plans
Communicate effectively across all levels, translating technical topics for non-technical stakeholders
Top Mandatory Skills & Experience
Proven experience partnering with General Contractors and Facilities teams on:
Manufacturing building construction
Data center build-outs or expansions
Strong knowledge of:
Structured cabling
Division 27 standards
AV standards
Telecom and construction drawings (office & industrial environments)
Demonstrated leadership in enterprise infrastructure implementations, including:
Data centers
Server, data, backup, and DR solutions
Active Directory and server OS upgrades
Deep network expertise within manufacturing and industrial environments
Strong understanding of cloud computing principles, migration strategies, and deployments in:
AWS
Azure
GCP
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
8+ years managing complex, cross-functional IT infrastructure projects/programs, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings
Proven experience integrating plant-floor (OT) systems with enterprise IT
Hands-on experience with:
Factory LAN/WLAN
Multi-site enterprise networking
Server, storage, and backup ecosystems
Proficiency with project management tools:
Smartsheet
Jira
Google Workspace
Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and independent decision-making skills
Excellent stakeholder communication and executive-level reporting abilities
