About The Role

The Financial Products team is a highly focused growth team with a mission to build out Uber's financial services. As one of the company's core strategic initiatives, the team is responsible for launching high-impact projects that push the boundaries of Uber's services and offerings and has a direct impact on the company's performance.

On this team, we build user-facing fintech products and services that interface with the entire Uber platform. We ship on a global scale and pursue strategic projects in various markets to empower Uber's business.

What The Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points

Lead and execute on web projects that span across multiple engineering teams
Collaborate closely with product, design, and business teams to design and implement new product ideas and business needs with a scalable solution
Drive adoption of best practices in code health, testing, and maintainability
Play an active role in the team's technical design choices, code reviews, and documentation

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
7+ years working with Web technology and technical software engineering experience;
Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript
Experience developing web applications using frameworks like React or Node.js
Familiarity with microservices and API design
Architecting, building, and maintaining web applications
Experience with data analytics and experimental design in an engineering context.

Preferred Qualifications

Great sense of ownership
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Robust understanding of client-side performance optimizations and modern browser capabilities.
Solid experience with modern js frameworks, such as Fusion/React.
Demonstrated fluency with one or more general-purpose programming languages, including: C++, Python, Java, Go, particularly as it relates to supporting front-end tooling or infrastructure.
Experience and interest in the broader front-end ecosystem, including build tools, testing frameworks, and state management libraries

For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$223,000 per year - USD$248,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
