Position overview
Reporting to the Manager, Security Operations, the Coordinator, Security Operations will be tasked with managing Security Programs, administering access levels, overseeing operations, building relationships, supporting audits, conducting investigations, and assisting in irregular Airport Operations situations.
Key responsibilities include:
Administer, develop, and maintain technical security systems and critical assets
Monitors trend analysis on security systems performance
Implement, test and commission new security systems infrastructure
Provide technical training to internal and external stakeholders
Maintaining full understanding of current security and privacy legislation
Evaluating current operational standards, policies, procedures and processes against both regulatory requirements and industry best practices
Providing management of various Security Programs
Building and maintaining positive, effective working relationships with other Airport Authority departments, air carriers, ground handlers, government agencies and other airport tenants
Evaluating current operational standards, policies, procedures and processes against both regulatory requirements and industry best practices
Providing support and information for audits conducted by Transport Canada and the Airport Authority
Conducting and/or assisting in security investigations
Supporting Airport Operations in irregular and emergency situations
Supporting internal teams and external stakeholders on various projects, including preparing progress reports
Key qualifications include:
Five years of recent, related experience, supplemented by a bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
Experience in aviation and security in the following areas:
Aviation regulations
Airport infrastructure and processes related to public safety, aviation security, physical security and the protection of assets
Demonstrates sound foundational technical knowledge to support work delivery
Previous technical support experience with security systems is mandatory
A broad-based understanding of security philosophy and Canadian Law as it pertains to airports
Demonstrated project management skills including program development, implementation and auditing
Proficient in developing and implementing business and operational best practices
Strong computer skills for the administration of computer programs such as: Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Word and Excel; and Microsoft Windows based software (CEM, Genetec, CCTV)
Proven ability to work in a fast paced and ever-changing environment
Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, along with conflict resolution and mediation skills with the ability to maintain diplomacy
Proven ability to foster effective client relationships
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse information, make sound decisions and implement solutions
Proven organization and time management skills
Strong analytical skills including the ability to provide solutions and recommendations
Proven ability to safeguard information in a discreet and professional manner
Although not required, French language skills are an asset as we are committed to providing bilingual services to our visitors and passengers. Salary Range :$75,766 to $99,027 per annum, based on 37.5-hour work week. This is individually tailored to reflect your unique experience, qualifications and internal equity.
