Description

We are seeking a Senior OpenShift Subject Matter Expert to join our infrastructure engineering group. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing OpenShift clusters across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments. The right individual will be a Red Hat expert with strong virtualization knowledge, deep experience in container platforms, and the ability to drive automation, scalability, and security across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

Architect, deploy, and maintain OpenShift clusters in hybrid and on-prem environments with a focus on scalability, high availability, and performance.
Develop and enforce best practices for OpenShift operations, cluster lifecycle management, and Day-2 support.
Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and upgrades using Ansible, Terraform, and IaC methodologies.
Integrate container-native storage and ensure platforms support enterprise application scalability.
Implement and manage virtualization solutions (VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV, OpenShift Virtualization).
Partner with security teams to apply compliance standards, patch management, and proactive risk mitigation.
Monitor performance, observability, and resiliency using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic, New Relic, and Sysdig.
Support DevOps collaboration, providing guidance on containerization, Kubernetes, and OpenShift adoption across teams.
Deliver expertise to troubleshoot escalated issues, optimize cluster tuning, and ensure system reliability (99.9% uptime expected).

Required Qualifications

Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) with multiple specialist certifications (OpenShift, Containers, Multi-Cluster Mgmt, Data Foundations, etc.).
Proven track record deploying and supporting enterprise-scale OpenShift platforms in production.
Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV).
Advanced knowledge of automation frameworks: Ansible, Terraform, scripting in Python or Bash.
Strong experience with hybrid cloud environments (Azure, on-prem).
Background in high availability design, disaster recovery, and cluster scaling.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to guide both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
