Job Summary

Homeland is partnering exclusively with a leading global professional services firm to hire a Lead Security Engineer. This key role supports the organization’s Azure-focused security team and is essential to protecting the integrity, performance, and compliance of its enterprise systems. We’re looking for a strong security professional with deep technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and proven leadership. The Lead Security Engineer has hands-on security intelligence experience, works well in complex environments, and can guide security strategy—not just execute it. This hybrid role requires on-site work at the client’s headquarters in Downtown Atlanta.

Responsibilities

Act as the lead Security SME for Azure, cloud governance, identity, and system protection
Lead security strategy, architecture, and day-to-day operations across the Azure environment
Enhance and maintain the organization’s security posture through monitoring, access controls, and configuration hardening
Supervise, guide, and develop a Security Analyst reporting into this role
Partner with Infrastructure and Cloud Engineering to secure network components and configurations
Implement cloud security best practices, compliance standards, and audit requirements
Manage Azure Resource Groups, policies, Conditional Access, identity governance, and related controls
Perform risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, investigate threats, and drive remediation
Utilize tools such as Azure Sentinel, EDR platforms, and Wiz to strengthen the environment
Leverage Azure Entra for identity, access, and enterprise application management
Stay current with related technologies, including Azure Virtual Desktop
Automate tasks and processes using PowerShell scripting
(Preferred) Contribute to Infrastructure-as-Code efforts using Terraform or similar tools
Support internal and external security audits and compliance initiatives

Requirements

5–7+ years in IT security, cyber defense, cloud security engineering, or related roles (Military Intelligence experience considered)
Proven success in an enterprise-level Azure security role
Strong knowledge of compliance audits, monitoring frameworks, and multi-team security strategies
Expertise in Microsoft Azure, including:
Azure Entra (Identity Governance, App Registration, SSO)
Azure Conditional Access
Azure Sentinel / SIEM
EDR, SOC operations, and vulnerability management
Proficiency with PowerShell for automation and configuration management
Experience with Red/Blue/Purple Team principles, risk assessment, and incident response
Comfortable operating in a hybrid work environment
Strong leadership skills—able to guide, mentor, and influence without formal authority
Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner cross-functionally and translate complex security concepts into business terms
Terraform or Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) experience is a plus
Prior experience supporting or securing large-scale cloud environments is highly preferred
Experience supporting security audits, internal/external assessments, and compliance initiatives

Additional Information

If you are a dynamic Azure security engineer with a strong, engaging personality—someone who thrives on collaboration, leads with influence, and can make a real impact on enterprise security—we invite you to apply today!

Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from $110,000 to $140,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package. Employees enjoy medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan with a 3% employer contribution, generous PTO, paid parking or transit reimbursement, tuition assistance, and additional perks designed to support your health, growth, and work-life balance.
