Job Description:

Our client, a fast-growing digital marketing agency, is seeking an experienced Senior SEO Specialist to lead SEO strategy and execution across a varied client portfolio. This is an exciting permanent opportunity based in Newcastle with flexible working options.

Job Responsibilities

Develop and execute comprehensive SEO strategies covering on-page and off-page optimisation for a broad range of clients.
Conduct regular SEO audits, track performance against KPIs, and deliver clear monthly insights to internal stakeholders.
Provide SEO-focused audits and strategy proposals to support business development efforts.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, to ensure technical implementation of SEO recommendations.
Contribute to continuous process improvements and support SEO best practices across the agency.
Mentor junior team members and offer strategic input to support the wider digital team.
Stay updated on SEO trends, algorithm changes, and the evolving role of AI in search marketing.
Take ownership of keyword research, metadata optimisation, content planning, internal linking, and backlink strategies.
Utilise SEO tools to produce performance reports and support data-driven decisions.
Assist in the implementation of tracking and reporting using tools such as Google Tag Manager and Data Studio.

Experience Required

Minimum of 4 years’ experience managing and executing SEO campaigns across diverse industries.
Proven track record in technical SEO, including structured data, crawl management, and optimisation techniques.
Experience in both local SEO and broader national/international SEO strategies.
High level of proficiency in industry-standard tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console.

Desirable Skills

Understanding of AI tools and how they enhance SEO strategy and analysis.
Strong analytical and reporting capabilities using Excel and Google Data Studio.
Experience in paid search (PPC) is a plus.
Background in content creation or direction is advantageous.
Familiarity with DevOps collaboration for implementing SEO strategies.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Marketing, IT, Communications, or a related field.
