A recognized services organization in New York City is actively seeking a new EDP Training & Enablement Specialist to join their growing team. In this highly technical public-sector training position, the EDP Training & Enablement Specialist will be focused on designing, delivering, and continuously refining technical trainings that Help Analysts, Biostatisticians, Program Teams, and other agency staff use the EDP effectively.
Responsibilities:
Deliver lecture, demo, and lab modules covering EDP fundamentals, like Databricks Unity Catalog, Databricks notebooks, and dashboards
Teach users how to query data in SQL, load data into R or Python dataframes, perform exploratory analysis, develop basic analytic workflows, and visualize data in dashboards
Develop and maintain training materials, including slide decks, lab notebooks, exercises, tip sheets, and quick start guides
Provide over-the-shoulder, hands-on support to participants during lab sections focused on accessing, transforming, visualizing, and presenting data in Databricks
Review training evaluations and thoughtfully identify opportunities to improve content and delivery, then communicate feedback to supporting instructors
Collaborate with EDP Product, Governance, and Data Engineering teams to ensure that training materials align with current features and standards
Identify new training needs as additional programs transition onto the EDP
Develop strategy, roadmap and expansion plans for the training program, including developing new and custom training and enabling adoption through post-training support
Support the Data Engineering and Product Management Unit with data analysis and QA testing as needed
Provide onsite support at least two days per week
Qualifications:
Experience as a Data Analyst, Biostatistician, or similar role
Proficiency with SQL and working knowledge of Python or R suitable for foundational data manipulation and visualization instruction
Experience w/ 2 out of 3 with respect to SQL/Python/R
Healthcare and/or Social Science experience
Experience using analytics platforms such as RStudio, Jupyter notebooks, Databricks, Spark, or similar tools
Ability to translate technical workflows into accessible instructional materials for uses of various experience levels
Strong facilitation and written and verbal communication skills
Desired Skills:
Public Health experience
State or Government experience
