Purchasing Agent

Location: TTM Technologies – Toronto
Position Summary
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Purchasing Buyer is responsible for supporting the procurement of goods and services in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner. This role plays a key part in inventory replenishment, supplier coordination, purchase order management, and ensuring procurement documentation is audit-ready in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Review MRP, ACP, and MIN/MAX reports to determine material replenishment requirements
Create and manage purchase orders to maintain appropriate inventory levels
Obtain supplier confirmations and follow up on open or outstanding orders
Source materials by engaging suppliers, requesting quotations, and evaluating pricing
Create requisitions and place purchase orders following supplier discussions
Maintain accurate pricing, freight, and quantity data within the ERP system
Produce cost-savings reports and identify procurement efficiency opportunities
Resolve receiving discrepancies, including shortages and quantity variances
Process approved requisitions and maintain supporting documentation
Add and maintain supplier records within the system
Ensure all procurement documentation (requisitions, MRP reports, confirmations, POs) is complete and audit-ready
Generate procurement-related reports as required
Qualifications & Skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to work collaboratively while managing tasks independently
Excellent organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail
Sound judgment and decision-making skills to avoid duplication and errors
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) with strong Excel capability
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English to perform job duties effectively
Highly motivated, disciplined, and customer-focused work ethic
Education & Experience
Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Minimum of 2 years’ purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing or production environment
PCB manufacturing experience is considered an asset
Experience with negotiation, problem-solving, and analytical decision-making preferred
Knowledge of ERP / MRP systems (e.g., SAP) and global purchasing practices is a strong asset
