Job Title: Applications Architect - Senior (IBM Maximo)
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
Duration: 12+ Months (Possible Extension)
Client: Public Sector (Preferred)
Pay Rate: C$110-C$120/hr
Role Overview
The Senior Applications Architect will lead the design, development, implementation, and ongoing support of enterprise Work and Asset Management solutions using IBM Maximo technologies. This role is responsible for end-to-end architectural ownership of Maximo platforms, including solution design, customization, integrations, data migration, testing, and post-implementation support.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership across large, complex programs, collaborate with business and technical stakeholders, and ensure high-quality, scalable, and maintainable Maximo solutions aligned with organizational needs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the architecture, design, configuration, and implementation of IBM Maximo solutions across multiple modules and environments
Provide technical leadership and direction to development teams throughout the full software development life cycle (SDLC)
Work closely with program teams to configure and implement Maximo solutions based on divisional and business requirements
Design and oversee integrations using enterprise integration frameworks
Manage and support Maximo Mobile solutions, including development, configuration, and troubleshooting
Oversee legacy data conversion, data mapping, validation, and migration activities
Lead testing efforts, including preparation of test strategies, test plans, test cases, and coordination of SIT, QA, and UAT activities
Track and manage defects, issues, dependencies, and risks across large programs
Ensure code quality and support promotion of releases across environments
Prepare technical documentation, test result summaries, and management-level reports as required
Collaborate with stakeholders across business units to build consensus, resolve technical challenges, and support change management initiatives
Provide assessments and recommendations on emerging technologies and best practices related to enterprise asset and work management platforms
Ensure delivery of high-quality, reliable, and maintainable Maximo solutions that meet business and operational needs
Required Qualifications & Experience
12+ years of demonstrated experience designing, developing, upgrading, documenting, and implementing Work and Asset Management solutions using IBM Maximo MAS, Maximo Mobile, and Maximo 7.6.x
12+ years of experience leading large-scale IBM Maximo implementations, including system upgrades, migrations, testing, and major go-lives
Proven experience leading development teams and providing technical leadership across all phases of the SDLC
Strong expertise in Maximo solution design, customization, and post-implementation support
Experience gathering business requirements, mapping business processes, and translating them into Maximo-based solutions
Extensive experience with legacy system data conversion and migration, including end-to-end accountability
Strong experience in system and application testing, including unit, system, and user acceptance testing
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and communicate complex technical concepts effectively
