As a Systems Administrator on this team, you will play a pivotal role managing and maintaining the IT infrastructure for a diverse portfolio of MSP clients. This Microsoft-centric, ITIL-aligned position emphasizes proactive systems administration, automation, and technical mentorship. You will act as an escalation point for Tier 1 and Tier 2 support staff, ensuring the smooth operation of hybrid environments and leveraging your expertise in scripting and cloud technologies to deliver exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
Mentorship & Collaboration
Mentor Tier 1 and peer Tier 2 support staff, focusing on effective remediation techniques and troubleshooting workflows.
Guide team members on adhering to ITIL-aligned processes for incident, problem, and change management.
Collaborate with Professional Services and Procurement teams to support cross-functional projects and deliverables.
Systems Administration
Administer, monitor, and maintain infrastructure across all managed clients, with an emphasis on:
Microsoft Active Directory (on-premise, hybrid)
Azure Active Directory and Microsoft 365 environments
DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and identity management
Perform regular patching, updates, and configuration tasks to ensure system stability and compliance.
Utilize RMM platforms and native Microsoft tools to monitor system health, performance, and security posture.
Automation & Scripting
Leverage PowerShell to execute administrative duties, streamline repetitive tasks, and manage complex environments remotely.
Design and implement automation workflows that respond to system events or operate on scheduled intervals to reduce manual workload.
Develop, document, and maintain a repository of reusable PowerShell scripts to facilitate efficient remediation and configuration across client environments.
Optional but Valued Skills
Experience with SCCM and Intune for device management, configuration, and application packaging.
Expertise in Exchange Online administration, including mail flow, mailbox policies, and retention settings.
SharePoint Online management, focusing on site creation and permissions administration.
Service Delivery & Ticket Management
Serve as the escalation resource for technically complex tickets passed from Tier 1 support.
Ensure comprehensive documentation of all actions, resolutions, and communications within the ticketing system (HaloPSA).
Monitor and uphold Service Level Agreements (SLAs), escalating to Tier 3 or third-party vendors as needed to maintain service quality.

Required Qualifications
Additional Skills & Qualifications
10+ years of experience in IT support or systems administration, ideally within a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment.
Strong proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation within Microsoft ecosystems.
Hands-on experience managing both on-premises Active Directory and Azure/Microsoft 365 cloud services.
In-depth understanding of ITIL principles and service operations best practices.
Exceptional communication skills, with a focus on clear documentation and effective remote collaboration.
Ability to work independently while mentoring junior team members and collaborating as part of a distributed team.

Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate (MD-100/MD-101)
Microsoft 365 Certified: Identity and Services (MS-100/MS-101)
ITIL Foundation Certification

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, MO.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $55.00/hr.
