Position: Senior AI Engineer

Location: New York, NY (Onsite)

Long Term Contract

Gen-AI Certification is highly desired

In this role, you will build core artificial intelligence capabilities, including virtual assistants in both voice and chat bot form and implementing the tools these agents interact with across our vast platform.

Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with the product team to innovate and iterate on existing services and develop new ones.
Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable software solutions that power Better's digital platform, utilizing a variety of technologies and programming languages.
Implement best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment to ensure the reliability and efficiency.
Work closely with the compliance team to ensure that all software solutions adhere to strict state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

Master's degree in engineering preferred
6+ years of full stack app development experience.
Proficiency in NodeJS, Typescript, React, building REST APIs, and websockets is a must
Comfortable with cloud based microservice environment
Experience building agentic AI features including chatbots, voice agents using OpenAI SDK or equivalents
Experience utilizing RAGs or MCP servers, and implementing tools for LLMs to utilize
Experience building and enhancing telephony/dialer systems, preferably using Twilio or similar platforms is a plus.
