The Role

Develop and implement program quality plans, programs, and procedures using statistical quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses. Ensures that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards. Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems. Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met. Recommends corrective actions, dispositions and modifications.

This job posting is a Quality Analyst position for the NNS Quality Assurance Engineering Material Team. The candidate’s role is to ensures NNS material procedures meet government specifications (e.g. NAVSEA 0948-LP-045-7010), contractual requirements and program needs. The Quality Analyst will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure traceability processes are clearly defined, compliant, and effectively executed. This role will also investigate, validate and resolve material traceability issues, ensure accurate documentation, system records, and traceability continuity throughout the material lifecycle.

Normal Daily Functions To Include

Develop, review, and update Quality Assurance Engineering material procedures governing material traceability requirements and material handling processes.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define, implement and improve traceability processes.
Identify and close gaps through continuous improvement activities to ensure ongoing compliance with requirements.
Review, research, and resolve material traceability issues identified during receipt inspection, production, installation, audits, or quality reviews.
Perform traceability searches across multiple business systems (e.g. SAP, SharePoint, MQS, and ERS) to validate material control level, certification, and usage history.
Evaluate compliance with local procedures, contractual requirements, and regulatory standards related to material traceability.
Provide guidance and oversight to other organizations on proper traceability practices and documentation requirements.
Lead or support complex or high-risk traceability investigations and adjudications.
Ability to obtain a Confidential Clearance is required.

Must Have

Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 8 year of relevant professional experience

One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:

NNS Apprentice School graduate
Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience

Nice to Have

Understanding of NAVSEA 0948-LP-045-7010 requirements

Understanding of various levels of material control

General knowledge of material storage processes

Understanding of receipt inspection requirements

Familiarity with material specifications and ship specification

Basic understanding of waterfront practices

Procedure writing experience

Excellent communication and writing skills

Strong knowledge of problem solving, root cause analysis and process management

Familiarity with SAP, SharePoint, MQS, ERS, and record retention process
