Job Specifications

MatchBox Consulting Group is currently seeking a QA Engineer for a permanent role with a client of ours located in Vancouver.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with product teams to lead testing efforts from start to finish for new and existing features.
Quickly understand the existing platform and augment the testing framework to support current and future functionalities.
Deliver automated, reliable, and comprehensive test coverage for all features.
Monitor, maintain, and support the delivered features by proactively identifying and resolving issues.
Work with support teams to lead incident investigations and drive remediation efforts
Propose innovative testing solutions to enhance the platform's stability and scalability.
Participate in code and design reviews, providing critical feedback on testability and potential issues.

Requirements

3–5 years of experience as a QA engineer with a strong focus on automation.
Design and maintain scalable, end-to-end automation frameworks for backend APIs (Java-based), using technologies like Rest Assured, Junit, Mockito etc.
Strong experience with BDD frameworks for writing and managing test cases.
Familiarity with UI test automation tools like Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
Solid understanding of microservices, JSON/XML, and how distributed systems communicate. Good understanding of security protocols like OAuth, SSL/TLS etc.
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling to run and maintain E2E tests
High-level experience working with cloud platforms and technologies like AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes
Conduct manual end to end tests in collaboration with partners in our lower environments.
Ability to design, implement, and maintain automation test suites for UAT and regression testing.
Familiarity with testing APIs and integrating external systems into the testing framework.
Strong understanding of modern testing methodologies and tools.
Nice to have experience working with ERPs (e.g. Netsuite or Quickbooks Online)
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaboration tools.
