Job Title:
Decommissioning Project Manager
Role Summary:
Lead medium‑to‑high risk decommissioning of infrastructure and construction projects up to $50 M. Oversee cross‑functional teams throughout the full project lifecycle—including scope, planning, scheduling, execution, monitoring, and reporting—to ensure safe, on‑time, and on‑budget delivery aligned with organizational requirements.
Expectations:
- Deliver projects within budget, schedule, and safety parameters.
- Manage Transmission Decommissioning projects and support subsequent maintenance/ininspection programs.
- Provide timely status updates to stakeholders and maintain rigorous documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver infrastructure and construction projects ($~50 M).
- Lead end‑to‑end project lifecycle: scope, plan, schedule, execute, monitor, report.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, risk registers, communication plans, and status reports.
- Manage engineering, QA, stakeholder engagement, Indigenous relations, permitting, procurement, field operations, and safety functions.
- Communicate progress, risks, and issues to internal stakeholders, contractors, and field teams.
- Track benefits, risks, budgets, resources, and documentation.
- Lead Transmission Decommissioning projects: coordinate contractor oversight, develop work packages, create press releases, conduct safety calls, review invoices.
Required Skills:
- Minimum 9 years project management experience (or equivalent).
- At least 5 years managing infrastructure or utility projects.
- Strong understanding of transmission systems, asset life cycles, and safety standards.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office and project management software.
- Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, and stakeholder‑management skills.
- PMP designation preferred.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or related field (engineering asset considered).
- PMP designation preferred.
