Alternative Investment Business – NYC Full Stack Software Engineering Opportunity

I’m searching for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join my client, a well-established alternative investment and AI-focused firm managing over $20B in assets. The firm builds and operates internal technology platforms that support reinsurance-focused portfolio management and operational decision-making.

You will be part of a small, high impact engineering team responsible for building and maintaining internal software used daily by non-technical users across portfolio management and operations. You’ll work across the full stack, owning features end to end from design and implementation to deployment and production support. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys solving real-world business problems, working directly with stakeholders, and modernizing production systems that have direct impact on investment and operational workflows.

Key requirements:

7+ Years of full-stack expereince
Full stack engineer with experience across of backend services, data pipelines, and system architecture, and the ability to build internal user interfaces as part of end-to-end solutions.
Proven experience owning software projects through the full lifecycle, including design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing production support.
Strong background in building and operating data-heavy systems, including hands-on experience with relational databases, analytical data platforms, pipelines, and job orchestration.
Ability to work directly with portfolio management and operations stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions, without reliance on a dedicated business analyst.
Strong UI/UX judgment as part of a full-stack skill set, with an ability to build intuitive, user-friendly interfaces for non-technical users

Technology environment (experience helpful but not strictly required):

Python-based backend services
React-based internal user interface
PostgreSQL, Snowflake, and Databricks for data storage and analytics
