Our client, a Canadian Equipment Manufacturer, is looking to hire an experienced Professional Mechanical Engineer to join their team in the West GTA.

We are looking for a licensed professional engineer (PEng) with experience designing and developing products with an airflow component.

Responsibilities:

Meet with clients to discuss product modifications, confirm product specifications and expectations
Collaborate with the R&D team to support new product development initiatives
Contribute on continuous improvement initiatives by enhancing existing designs for better efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and productivity
Perform structural analyses to ensure the mechanical integrity, reliability and safety of system components
Conduct loss calculations to design efficient tubing and fitting layout systems
Create general arrangement (GA) drawings, P&ID, GA exploded views, and detail assembly instructions to support manufacturing and assembly
Select appropriate materials and components based on system specifications
Ensure all designs meet relevant industry standards and certifications
Take ownership of assigned projects, ensuring internal processes are followed and project timeline is managed effectively
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to evaluate and source system components
Work closely with internal teams, including production and supply chain, to ensure smooth product development
Support product testing, validation, and troubleshooting, ensuring compliance with performance standards and regulatory requirements
Provide technical support to customers, as well as internal production and sales teams

Qualifications:

Licensed Professional Engineer (Peng) with a degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design of products with an airflow component
Responsibility for duct loss and CFM calculations
Experience with blowers, HVAC systems, vacuums, air piping or related equipment and systems
Experience with positive displacement pumps
Proficiency in SolidWorks
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Project management experience or training would be an asset
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

Please note, this is an in person position, with potential for hybrid ( 4 days / wk on site), once probationary period has been successfully completed.
